I was watching this TO*WK trailer and was actually enjoying the acting UNTILL one of the characters commiserating with another about her facial injures sustained during a beating suggested humorously that she should 'put a piece of meat on her eye'. This was a obvious sexual innuendo suggesting her pain would be alleviated and guilt assuaged if a penis and scrotum were resting on her face. VIOLENCE against transgender woman OR any woman is NOT funny. It is odious to even suggest that rape is warranted, pleasurable or desired by the victim.
And BTW, transgender woman do NOT need to trick men into desiring us by "putting duct tape in all the right places." Those of us who are attracted to
men present ourselves honestly and forthright. As all of who live 24/7/365 days a year authentically know, to do otherwise invites horrific violence and even death.To save maybe (one) life. Those who are yet to transition must be spared this pain. It is unreasonable to expect our effort to expose this horrible movie will completely change the world but to not even try would be unimaginable.

'Put a piece of meat on it,' was indeed a double entendre. It referred in a humorous way to the practice of putting a cold piece of meat on a bruise to reduce swelling, as well as enjoying a man's genitals.
Are you saying there is something wrong with a woman enjoying a man's genitals? Of course there was no intention to imply that a dick on her face would assuage Bubble's feelings about being raped. It was a joke amongst friends who obviously care about one another to lighten the mood and try and brighten her spirits. You should look at the context and source of the jokes before condemning them. And by source I mean Emma's character, not Israel's script.
At some point in each one's lives, each will come to that point where marginalization is no longer fun. Whether it be sexual innuendo, perojatives or hate in the form of violence, one will finally see that acceptance of these ideals, only provide a false sense of security. While each person's opinion should be respected as valid, the hate as accepted, is a poor inheritance to pass to our youth.

I think this whole thing is about anti-violence. I'm a survivor of domestic violence who spent 4 days in ICU. But I have got past the pain of betrayal by my lover and a system that was not sympathetic to it. I'm also a trans woman who loves and still dates men... Do I feel safe? Not always and this movie is very upsetting for me. I don't want to become so cold hearted and dead inside that movies like this become ok in my heart and soul. Once that happens you become like the ones who did you harm.
