Help with name and gender marker change comes to Pittsburgh PA and other cities

The Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF) has begun a project making it possible for trans people to change their legal name and gender marker in connection with the Pittsburgh's Garden of Peace Project .

The TLDEF has also initiated the project in the Albany NY, Milwaukee WI, New York City NY, Pittsburgh PA and Rochester NY where attorneys have stepped forward to work Pro Bono.

Having changed my name and gender in a Texas court in 2007 I can attest how daunting and expensive that task was. After I did it and learned the process I showed many friends the less expensive path only paying court costs. But its got be done right the first time. The TLDEF can help with that.
